Beauty

I have to make this short because I have to go to bed. If I was to sleep now I'd have about 5 hours till I need to wake up, jump in the car and head to Phoenix for the week. I'm going with 6 other PCC students and our RA for a mission trip. I'm a little bit nervous because it seems very different then the mission trips I've been on but it should be good. The not all of the group of people going are the people I usually hang out with, but I get along with them all, and there's a few I'm excited to get to know better. Everyone who is going is a lot of fun, so that's good. Five of us already went to San Diego for the day yesterday since school got out for break last Wednesday. That was a lot of fun. Even though its the "big" city that I was raised close to, I love going there with different people and seeing the sites. I love playing tour guide and seeing the beauty that city holds. I'm always awe-struck by it, especially when I can see the sunset colored sky on a skyscraper while coming back from Coronado.

The beauty of a gorgeous sunset and of the snow capped mountains of southern California have really caught my attention the last couple of weeks. I am continuously amazed by the beauty God has placed on this earth. I wish that I took time to appreciate it all the time. I realize the sights I see all the time I tend to ignore sometimes, except the mountains. They always make me stop and look for a while. They are just so beautiful when they're snow capped and yet its like 70-80 degrees where I am standing. My sister has said that the times she feels closest to God is when she is surrounded by nature and can see the work of His hands. I think she's on to something there...what I wouldn't give to have seen Him put it all together.

That's another thing I'm excited about for my mission trip, the sights of the desert. Although deserts are often thought to be barren, dry, and sometimes wastelands I have seen some of the most beautiful sights in Arizona. The brightest basketball moon ever (full moon), stars, the rock formations, and of course the Grand Canyon. We are going hiking so I can't wait to see those sights and of course Sedona and Flagstaff (I've been to Flagstaff, it's pretty; I'm not sure if I've been to Sedona or not though).

Okay off to bed so that I can start that new adventure!!!
